One of the most basic joys afforded to us as humans is the act of sharing a meal in the company of those close to us and in pleasant surroundings.  Our senses of touch, taste, smell, vision and hearing are all fully engaged at such an event, and the presentation of food in an attractive manner only serves to further enhance one’s overall appreciation of the experience.

It is for this purpose that I most enjoy making vessels that relate to the preparation and serving of food and drink, and the beautification of one’s surroundings.  I believe a substantial part of the beauty of handmade pottery lies in its use and the pottery I create is intended to take an active part in one’s daily life.  I continually strive to create pottery that is attractive in its form, color, and surface and that performs its intended function well.
